The sales people are very friendly and smooth BEFORE you sign the contract; AFTER, shipper beware. Our car was picked up on the scheduled day by All America Auto’s agent. We received a call from the Fair Oaks Police Department in Fairfax County, Virginia late that night. The trucking company’s driver–All America Auto’s “carefully picked agent” based on all their years in the business–was arrested for DWI in our car and unauthorized and illegal possession of our car.

The driver was put in jail, but so was our car. The owner of the trucking company–MS Trucking of Springfield, Virginia–called us to ask us not to press charges against his driver. Can you imagine? The driver might have been drunk again on his way from Washington, DC to California. Our car was impounded until a separate trucking company picked it up. The police case number is 08211000181, filed July 29, 2008 by Officer D J Faulk.

The car arrived at Hilo, Hawaii–but it was banged up and scratched.

Luckily, we paid by credit card and disputed All America Auto’s shipping charge by the amount it will cost us for the repairs. The smooth salesman from All America Auto said that our contract said that we have to file our claim against the trucking company. Our contract was with AAA only; the trucking companies were AAA’s agents, not ours.

Here is a hint–those of you who are unlucky enough to use All America Auto can dispute any charge you have on your credit card. If you pay cash, say good-bye to the greenbacks.
