Renting from Penske turned out to be a really great experience. We were poor recent grad students grads relocating from Philadelphia to San Francisco. We researched every possible option for moving and found a Penske 16′ truck to be our best option. The structure of the pricing allowed us to take our time getting out here. When picking up the truck in Philly, a man called two days before our pick up date to let us know that there were lots of bookings for that morning and the line could be really long- he asked if we wanted to switch to their other location for pick up and in return get $50 off our truck. We declined but he happily let us pick up our truck the night before our reservation in order to avoid the long line. The truck was brand new, well-designed, clean, and easy to drive. Customer service on both ends was extraordinary. They let us extend our reservation for a very reasonable rate when we ran into a snag in our move. They stayed open a little bit late when we were returning so we could find a gas station. We even got a friendly offer of a ride home after dropping off the truck from a nice employee.
Bottom line: moving is one of the most stressful things in life and Penske made it as easy as possible for us. I would only use them in the future for this kind of long-distance move. We both now rave about Penske!
