The movers arrived at 9:30 am and wrote in their paper 9:15. They took breaks (which are not supposed to be charged back to the customer) and did not deduct the time of each break from the final bill. They promised wardrobe boxes and did not bring any thus all my clothes that was supposed to stay nice and wrinkle free was transported as a pile and dumped on my bed matress after my master bed was put together.
They did a lot of their work backwards. They brought in a lot of boxes and just layed them around in my daughter’s room and when they got the furniture upstairs they could not get it in the room because they had a mess of boxes in her room. My husband and I had to move everything they put in the room and start placing the furniture in their possible permanent spot.
Their packing looked questionable to me in a lot of ways. I saw little or no packing material in the boxes they packed. I got charged for 100 boxes and I can’t actually tell if there were that many. They also barely put items in some of the boxes and used mainly small boxes so that created more time to pack and more time to load and unload the trucks. I suggest that no matter who you use to move you should buy plastic totes from Target or Walmart. They are cheaper and more durable than cardboard boxes.
I was told that I was sent the fastes crew in GA supposedly the manager ranted and raved to me that they were, yet it took 6 men 11.75 hours to move my home. The 11.75 hours was not including any packing. I paid for them to come pack my home and it took them 10 hours to do my home with 4 people which seems unreal to me. They took a total of 21.25 hours to move my home. I have been moved previously by other company’s in half the time with less people and more items being moved. This time I had no refrigerator, no washer and dryer, and 1 set less of couches than I did the last 2 times yet this move was longer than any other. They charged me $375.00 per hour for 6 men and 3 trucks. I believe everything in my home could have fit in 2 trucks had they packed the trucks correctly.
When I got on the phone at 9:50 at night with the manager of the crew to complain and tell him I was not paying for the crew’s lunch time or travel time which was an hour and 45 minutes and that the crews took their sweet time and took breaks and I was still being charged for that the manager of the crew started raising his voice at me. Then I told him I was moved from FL to GA with less people and only 2 trucks in less time than his crew took to move me minus the drive time he called me a liar and got impossible to deal with.
As stressed as anyone could imagine almost 12 hours later and a huge moving bill of $7966 that included the packing from the previous days before the move. This manager made it a very disgusting experience for my family and I. I would suggest to anyone that you take causion if you plan to use this company as well as make sure you ask for the paper the driver or main crew member has and write down the time of when they get there yourself.
Keep track of their breaks and their “lunch” time. They claimed it took them an hour to travel from my old home to my new home and only 45 minutes for lunch. I feel like I got taken and disrespected by this company and the people who work for it. I used the following location:
1640 McFarland 400 Drive, Alpharetta, GA 30004
Toward the end of the night the 2 crew members were still unloading the last truck while 2 crew members took their time to fold moving pads and the other 2 members moved their truck out of my driveway. For this I was being charged $375.00 per hour!!! I was I-rate by the time they came in to ask for payment. Using moving companies can be a huge gamble I suggest you check with the BBB before hiring a moving company. Next time I will follow my own advise.
Thank you for reading and I hope this helps all of you looking to move in the future to chose wisely.
Sincerely,
G. Boyle
