Two Men and a Truck Moving Company

My family and I have used this moving company a couple of times in the past with great success, which is why I decided to use them for my most recent move (June, 2008). I made reservations to use their services two months prior to the move and was flexible as to the best day of the week to use them.

To my surprise, the movers pulled up to my house in a rental Enterprise 16′ truck to move me with. I had a living room, (antique) dining room set with 2 buffets (long and short sizes) and two complete bedroom sets to move. All the furniture was disassembled and ready to be loaded onto the truck. The movers walked around looking at my furniture and said “there’s no way we’re going to fit this furniture on that size of a truck Two Men and a Truck sent” with them. They called their superviser and told him the truck wasn’t large enough to move all of my furniture. Their superviser told them to make it work. I told them I was willing to schedule another day to make the move with the proper size truck and they said their boss told them they should be able to fit all the furniture in the rental truck. (MY mistake was to not say cancel the whole contract!)

It took them 4 hours to try to load the truck (like putting a puzzle together). When the truck was unloaded at the new house, it had taken 7 hours to do a 3 hour job. And the cushion to my $800 recliner had a 2 inch rip in it (which they argued with me saying it was damaged before being loaded on the truck) and my table glass top (which cost $200) was cracked in the middle.

I would never recommended using this company. You never know what type of movers you will get. This move was very unprofessionally managed from the time the truck was dispatched to the last piece of furniture being removed. My cost for the move was $750. My damage to my furniture was approx. $400. I would have been ahead of the game had I rented a U-Haul truck and paid my daughter’s college friends to move me. At the least, I would have had control over the glass tops and cushions.

Needless to say, I am so very disappointed in Two Men and a Truck!
